Hemodialysis catheters are usually placed in deep veins such as the neck (jugular vein) and chest (subclavian vein) through the Seldinger technique to establish temporary blood connections between the patient and the dialysis machine for acute and short-term dialysis. The catheter can be kept in patient body maximal 30 days.
